New Mexico develops electronic GIS mapping tool for permitted sources.

January 3, 2017

In December 2016, the New Mexico Environment Department – Air Quality Bureau (NMED) developed an electronic Graphical Information System (GIS) mapping tool for permitted sources in New Mexico according to a December 20, 2016 Trinity Consultants report.

This is a permitted source mapping tool that is available to the public on the NMED website. The tool is a work in progress for the NMED but currently plots NSR and Title V permitted sources and allows the user to view permits associated with each NSR and Title V site. The NMED is hoping the tool will help reduce public records requests, help inspectors identify sources in the field, and help the NMED staff access information on sources.
