The New Mexico Environmental Department – Air Quality Bureau (NMED) recently released new guidance regarding greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). The new guidance explains that GHG emissions must be included in applicable air permit applications and public notices according to a June 30, 2016 Trinity Consultants report.New Mexico NMED logo

  • This guidance comes after the NMED updated the public notice guidance which requires GHG emissions to be included in public notices submitted with applications. This new guidance:
    Refers applicants to the Universal Application Forms (UA) and public notice guidance documents. These documents will explain when and how GHG emissions need to be included into applications and public notices.
  • The GHG guidance document also explains PSD regulation requirements that may be ignored for GHG emissions.
